Program Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Science offers seven specialized streams in environmental and biological sciences. Students complete 12 credit points in their chosen stream, learning through a blended format of online resources, printed materials, and on-campus workshops. The program prepares graduates for careers in fields such as biology, geology, environmental science, and conservation, and provides a pathway to further study in Master's programs.

• The Graduate Certificate in Science requires students to select one of seven streams to focus on: Aquaculture Science and Technology, Environmental Earth Science, Environmental Management, Fisheries Science and Management, Geology, Marine Biology, Planning and Design, or Tropical Biology and Conservation.

Teaching:

• Students will learn from expert lecturers and participate in practical workshops and projects.
• The program is delivered in a blended format, with online resources, printed materials, and on-campus workshops and travel for professional placements.

Careers:

• Graduates of the program will be qualified for employment as a biologist, geologist, environmental scientist or manager, or conservation specialist.
• Students who complete the Graduate Certificate in Science are eligible for credit towards the Master of Science (Professional) and Master of Science degrees.
