Human Resource Management and Organizational Development
Program Overview
This graduate program in Organizational Development provides a comprehensive foundation in human resource management and organizational behavior. Students complete core courses in organizational theory, strategic HR, and research methods, along with restricted electives in areas such as leadership, communication, and technology. The program culminates in either a practicum or thesis, preparing graduates for careers in HR management, organizational development, and related fields.

Foundation/Prerequisite Courses:
Students must complete nine hours of graduate or undergraduate non-management courses spread across three business functional areas (marketing, law, economics, accounting, and finance). One three-hour course from these nine hours must be either accounting or a finance course. Students must also demonstrate proficiency in using computer applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel spreadsheets.

Entry Requirements:
- For domestic applicants, a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale is required for both regular and conditional admission.
- For international applicants, a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale is required for regular admission. Conditional admission is also available to applicants not meeting minimum admission requirements.
- A resume is not required for MSHROD-China applicants but is required for MSHROD-U.S. applicants.
- Test Scores:
- A GMAT score of 450 or a GRE score of 290 is required for admission to the MSHROD-U.S. program.
- The GMAT/GRE requirement will be waived for students who meet any of the GRE/GMAT Waiver Criteria. Requests to waive the GRE/GMAT requirement must be emailed to the Graduate Programs Office (cob_graduate@emich.edu).
- The GRE/GMAT requirement is waived for Fall 2023 and Winter 2024 applicants (applicants must satisfy all other requirements).
- International applicants must meet the Graduate School's minimum requirements.
- Applicants who graduated from the Chinese three-year program as an undergraduate are admitted as Bridge students.
- A bachelor's degree is required for all applicants.
Language Proficiency Requirements:
- International applicants must meet the Graduate School's minimum requirements.
- MSHROD-China applicants must have a CET-4, IELTS of 5.0 for regular admission. If there is no exam, the applicant will be admitted to ESL and will take an Intensive English course at Tianjin University of Commerce (TJUC).
