Communication - Interpretation & Performance Studies [M.A.]

Program Overview

This program offers a concentration in Communication and Theatre Arts with a focus on narrative performance. Students complete core courses in communication inquiry and research methods, along with concentration requirements in personal narrative, oral history, and interpretation. They also select restricted elective courses to meet their individual needs.

• CTAO 540 Personal Narrative/Oral History in Performance 3 hrs
• CTAO 542 Adapting/Directing Narrative Theatre 3 hrs
• CTAO 695 Seminar in Interpretation 3 hrs
• Select one course from the following:
• CTAO 500 Performing Prose & Poetry 3 hrs
• CTAO 514 Studies in Performing Drama 3 hrs
• Degree Requirement: 1-3 hours
• Select one course from the following:
• COMM 690 Degree Requirement 1 hr
• COMM 691 Degree Requirement 2 hrs
• COMM 692 Degree Requirement 3 hrs
