Business Management Major: Professional Sales Option (B.S.)

The Bachelor of Science in Business Management provides a comprehensive foundation in management principles, with a focus on critical thinking, communication, and ethical practice. Students can choose a concentration in Professional Sales or select advanced courses in areas such as information technology, economics, or human resource management. The program culminates in an integrative capstone experience that prepares graduates for success in various business roles.

Degree Overview:
The Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management offers students the appropriate breadth and depth of study with a concentration of five courses to pursue other areas of interest in management. The degree is responsive to the education needs of businesses and includes an appropriate foundation for further graduate study. The outcomes-based program is built upon a foundation of six essential competencies that are integrated throughout the curriculum: critical thinking, effective oral and written communication, applied quantitative analysis, managing in a global environment, ethical practice, and leadership.
Outline:
General Education Program Requirements:
- Minimum grade of D- required in all General Education coursework.
- Maximum of two course overlaps allowed between Major, Minor, and General Education requirements, with only one overlap between Major and Minor.
- All General Education requirements, including CRIT 602 Advanced Critical Analysis and Strategic Thinking and IDIS 601 Interdisciplinary Seminar, must be taken prior to the capstone.
Writing Program Requirements:
- All bachelor's degree candidates must complete four writing intensive courses:
- ENG 420 The Writing Process
- One Writing Intensive course in the Major
- One Writing Intensive course at the 600-level or above
- One Additional Writing Intensive Course
