The Associate of Arts (AA) - Honors degree from Broward College provides a strong foundation in General Education and allows students to pursue further education at other institutions. Students complete 18 credit hours of Honors coursework, including HUM1020 and IDH2121, and can select 24 credit hours of electives aligned with their intended transfer major. Program Description:

Through the AA - Honors degree, students acquire a solid foundation in General Education, with 36 credit hours dedicated to these courses. Additionally, students can select 24 credit hours of electives aligned with their intended transfer major.

Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:


Incoming high school students

  • High School GPA: 3.5 unweighted or
  • Test Scores

SAT:

1170 (minimum 550 reading and 550 math)


ACT:

22 (minimum 21 English, 21 math, 22 reading)


PERT:

113 reading, 123 math, 123 writing


Current/Transfer students

  • Eligible for college-level math, English, and reading courses
  • Earned at least 6 college-level credits
  • 3.5 Overall/Honors GPA for all completed college-level coursework

“Gap” Year Students

  • Current Broward College students who cannot meet the above criteria due to a lower than 3.5 Overall/Honors GPA and who began their college career at Broward College or a different university/institution can be given permission to register for Honors classes if they meet the following:
  • Have at least one year in between their previous enrollment at Broward College or at their other previous university/institution
  • Earned at least 6 college-level credits at Broward College
  • 3.5 Broward Cumulative GPA

Provisional Admission

  • Students who do not meet any of the above criteria and who would like to be given a chance to complete Honors classes can receive provisional admission to register for Honors classes if they have a minimum Broward College Cumulative GPA of 3.3 and if they provide the following:
