Entry Requirements:
For the M.S. in Urban and Regional Planning program at Rowan University, the following are required for application:
- Completed Application Form: A completed application form is necessary to begin the process. A $65 non-refundable application fee is required.
- Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution is required.
- Official Transcripts: Official transcripts from all colleges attended must be submitted, regardless of the number of credits earned.
- Current Professional Resume: A current professional resume is needed.
- Statement of Professional Objectives: A typewritten statement outlining professional goals and how the program will help achieve them is required. Applicants should also highlight personal qualities.
- Letters of Recommendation: Two letters of recommendation are required.
- Minimum GPA: A minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) is required.
- College Transcript and Copy of Original Degree: If more than one degree has been completed, all academic credentials must be submitted. A certified English translation is required if the documents are not in English.
- Professional Resume/CV: A professional resume or CV is required.
- References: At least two references (professional or academic) submitted on official letterhead are required.
- Statement of Professional Objectives: Similar to the requirement above, but should also address career goals and educational goals beyond the master's level if applicable.
- Proof of English Language Proficiency: International students must submit standardized test scores unless they are exempt. Acceptable tests include TOEFL (code 2515), PTE (code M7V), Duolingo (add Rowan University to "My Colleges"), and IELTS (official score reports verifiable with the TRF#). A Foreign Credential Evaluation Report is optional.
Language Proficiency Requirements:
International students must provide proof of English language proficiency unless exempt. Students who do not meet the minimum scores may be offered conditional admission and required to complete the university's English Language Program (ELP) before starting their degree program.
