The Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) in Family Nurse Practitioner is a part-time program offered in an hybrid format at our Glassboro, NJ campus. Students must take at least four courses (two didactic and two clinical) at Rowan University to receive the CAGS. The program coordinator will review transcripts and previous course descriptions to determine the number of courses needed to complete the CAGS. Course requirements range from 4 courses to 44 courses depending on previous coursework completed and certifications held. Students may obtain more than one certification. However, only one certificate may be completed at a time due to the amount of clinical practicum hours required. Clinical hours as determined by the accrediting body.

The purpose of the CAGS is to allow post graduate registered nurses the ability to become Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs), or allow a Nurse Practitioner in another practice area the ability to obtain additional certification which will allow them to work as an FNP.
