Program Outline

Degree Overview:

Ohio Dominican University's Cross-Disciplinary Studies (CDS) major allows students to create a personalized program of study tailored to their unique interests and aspirations. This flexibility is particularly beneficial for transfer students with a wide range of prior credits, students seeking a non-traditional career path, or those desiring a curriculum that aligns precisely with their strengths and passions. To achieve their educational and professional goals, students collaborate with faculty and an advisor to carefully select courses that complement their academic backgrounds or professional experiences. However, it is emphasized that students work with faculty and an advisor to design an individualized program of study consisting of at least 36 credit hours. The approved program must include two concentrations with a minimum of 15 credit hours in each. Of these credit hours, 24 must be at the 200-level or higher, with at least 9 credits at the 300-level or higher.

Careers:

The Cross-Disciplinary Studies degree provides a versatile foundation for various career paths and graduate studies. Due to its customizable nature, the program is well-suited for individuals interested in careers such as medicine, healthcare, education, law, marketing, or social services. Students with a solid liberal arts background and interdisciplinary knowledge are highly sought after in these fields.
