• Objective: To educate innovative, antiracist, and inclusive educators in history, politics, or other social sciences.
• Description: The program combines a strong education foundation with a social science major in the College of Arts and Sciences or Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
Students engage in a curriculum that emphasizes cultural and linguistic diversity, media and technology integration, multilevel teaching, and standards-based assessment. They also participate in clinical simulations (EDU SIMs) for realistic preprofessional practice, replicating common school and classroom interactions.

Outline:

• Professional Education Core: Courses on the history of schooling, principles of inclusive classrooms, literacy across the curriculum, and methods for teaching English, reading, writing, and more.
• Dual Major Options: Students can choose a dual major from various social science areas, including African American studies, anthropology, economics, geography, history, international relations, political science, policy studies, and sociology.
• Liberal Arts Core: Introductory courses in a range of liberal arts areas provide broad perspectives on the world and human experience.
