Program Overview


This 24-week Acting: Film, Television & Voice-Over program consists of 10 courses covering scene study, auditioning, fundamental skills, voice-over techniques, and the business of acting. Students will explore character development, audition preparation, voice and movement exercises, and the key ingredients for successful voice-over work. The program aims to equip aspiring actors with the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

  • The Acting: Film, Television & Voice-Over program consists of a total of 10 courses running over 24 weeks.
  • Individual Modules:
  • ACT-100: Intro to Scene Study
  • Students will delve deep into performance exploring character, story, and setting.
  • They will discover how to create and utilize stakes, status, and relationship in their scene work, and how to play within a scene and discover parallels. Students will also discover the layers of scenes that will assist in enhancing their interpretive skills. Working with multiple scene partners, they will explore a number of scenes over the course of the program.
  • ACT-110: Intro to Audition
  • This course focuses on the processes of the Audition Room – the place professional actors spend much of their time.
  • Students will learn how to prepare and feel comfortable in the auditioning environment.
  • ACT-120: Intro to Fundamental Skills
  • This course focuses on the fundamental skills of an actor.
  • Students will be introduced to exercises and concepts associated with Voice and Movement, Improv, and Text Analysis.
  • ACT-140: Discovering Voice-Over
  • In this course students will explore voice-over theory and technique through lecture and demonstration.
  • Students will also work frequently, lab-style, in the voice-over booths. During the course students are exposed to the key ingredients that are imperative to both commercial and animation voice work. Each class block students will work with a variety of materials in preparation for the creation of their voice demos.
  • ACT-190: The Business of Being an Actor
  • The professional actor needs to put equal energy into both their craft and their business.
  • While the former is intuitive for most actors, the latter is often overlooked. This course focuses on key information that every actor needs to know if they plan to pursue acting as a full-time career.
  • ACT-101: Scene Study with Camera
  • During Scene Study students will delve deep into performance exploring character, story, and setting.
  • They will discover how to create and utilize stakes, status, and relationship in their scene work. Students will learn to play within a scene and how to discover parallels. Language Proficiency Requirements:

  • IELTS: minimum score required is overall 6.0
  • TOEFL: minimum score required is 68 for the internet-based exam, 190 for the computer-based exam and 520 for the paper-based exam

  • Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE): minimum level achieved B1
