UTS Bachelor of Molecular Biotechnology is a 3 year full time or 6 year part time study program that equips students with the knowledge and skills to transform human and environmental outcomes. The program focuses on manipulating cellular and molecular processes of living organisms. It offers two major streams:
- Medical Biotechnology: Applies biotechnology to human health, covering molecular biology, microbiology, pharmacology, human genetics, and immunology. Students explore specialist subjects in medical devices and bioprocessing using cutting-edge molecular tools and techniques. Upon graduation, they can contribute to the development of new medical diagnostics and treatments.
- Environmental Biotechnology: Prepares students to address pressing environmental issues using biological technologies and methods, including pollution mitigation, environmental remediation, renewable energy generation, biosecurity, and biomass production. Through a combination of science and environmental subjects, graduates emerge ready to contribute to products and processes that preserve and care for our planet.
