Program Overview
The Bachelor of Health Care is an exit-only degree for students unable to continue with the clinical component of the Bachelor of Nursing program. It provides an undergraduate qualification, enabling students to pursue postgraduate study or employment in the health care sector, particularly in health promotion, planning, policy, and research. The program consists of 144 credit points, including nursing theory, science, and clinical practice components, and can be completed in three years full-time or six years part-time.

The Bachelor of Health Care is an exit-only degree for students who are unable to progress with the clinical component of the Bachelor of Nursing program due to extenuating circumstances. It provides an opportunity for these students to complete an undergraduate qualification, enabling them to progress to postgraduate study or employment in the health care sector. The program consists of 144 credit points, including nursing theory, science, and clinical practice components. Students study for three years full-time or six years part-time.
Objectives:
- Allow students who are unable to progress with the clinical component of the Bachelor of Nursing to complete an undergraduate qualification.
- Provide students with skills from both the Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Health Science programs, with the exception of clinical competency.
- Prepare students for postgraduate study and/or employment in the health care sector, particularly in health promotion, planning, policy, and research.
