The Master of Teaching (Secondary) STEM program at Western prepares individuals to inspire high school students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. It offers flexible options for students with STEM backgrounds, including a two-year full-time track for bachelor's graduates, a 1.5-year accelerated track for late-stage postgraduates, and a part-time option for early-stage postgraduates. Graduates emerge with the skills to teach secondary school or pursue generalist positions requiring teamwork, leadership, and communication.

Are you interested in teaching high school students and inspiring future leaders? Review an overview of the program structure options below based on your current or most recent program of study to determine which is right for you. This program includes dedicated professional experience in high school settings as well as theory and curriculum subjects. What is your most recent qualification? Bachelor program in STEM: Are you completing a STEM related bachelor program? Transition into the Master of Teaching (Secondary) STEM and complete it in 2 years full-time. Post-graduate STEM program (late-stage): Are you nearing the end of your master, or PhD program? Transition into the accelerated Master of Teaching (Secondary) STEM and complete it in 1.5 years at the completion of your program. Offering flexible course progression and strong employability outcomes for post-graduate science students like you, the accelerated Master of Teaching (Secondary) STEM has been customised to cater for your study and life commitments. With recognition of your prior learning in research and project-based subjects, this program will allow you to commence work after completing 50% of the program. Post-graduate STEM program (early stage): Have you recently started a master, or PhD program?

This means that the Australian Government pays part of your fees towards your program, therefore reducing your program fees, and the remaining amount is paid by you, this is considered your Student Contribution.
