Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management (International)

Program Overview

The Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management (International) is a 52-week program that combines on-campus tuition with an industry placement semester. Students complete 33 units, including core units in finance, customer service, and management. The program prepares graduates for careers in hospitality management, such as area manager, café owner, or food and beverage manager.

Semester 1: On-campus Tuition Semester

• 21 Weeks
• On-campus classes: 21 hours per week
• Paid work rights: up to 40 hours per fortnight (14 days)

Semester 2: Industry Placement Semester

• 20 Weeks
• No on-campus classes during Industry Placement
• Paid work rights: up to 45 hours per week

Holidays

• 11 weeks
• Paid work rights: unlimited

• 1 unit from Group A
• 1 unit from Group B
• 11 units from Group C
• 6 units from Group C, Group D, elsewhere in the SIT Training Package, or any other current Training Package or accredited course.

Credit Transfer:

18 units Credit Transferred from Certificate IV Commercial Cookery or Certificate IV in Hospitality. (Must include x from Group A, 1 from Group B, 4 from Group C)

Teaching:

• The first semester of the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management course is spent undertaking advanced practical and theory tuition delivered on campus, utilizing industry-standard bar and restaurant equipment in ICAE’s fully equipped training bar and restaurant areas.
• The second semester is spent entirely in the workplace, undertaking Industry Placement (IP).
