Program Overview
This short course equips educators and support staff in the education and care industry with essential first aid skills, including responding to asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. Through a combination of online learning and face-to-face workshops, participants gain knowledge in emergency response, first aid procedures, incident communication, and performance evaluation. Upon completion, they receive a statement of attainment for the nationally accredited unit HLTAID004, which may contribute towards approved first aid training under the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.
Program Outline
Outline:
This short course will provide educators and support staff working in the education and care industry with skills in effective first aid response, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. Participants will gain knowledge of:
- Responding to an emergency situation
- Application of appropriate emergency first aid procedures
Teaching:
This course will be delivered in a combination of self-paced online activities and assessments and a face-to-face session. The delivery model consists of:
- Online self-paced e-learning activities and assessments
- Practical face-to-face workshop delivery
Careers:
Upon completion of this course, participants will receive a statement of attainment for the nationally accredited unit HLTAID004 provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting. This unit of competency included in the short course may contribute towards approved first aid, asthma, and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).

This course has no specific admission requirements. As part of the application process, applicants must complete a Pre-training Review (PTR) to determine suitability for admission.
