Environmental Horticulture AS Degree (employment preparation)

Program Overview

The Associate of Science in Environmental Horticulture equips students with the skills and knowledge for careers in landscape management, pest control, and sales in the horticulture industry. The program includes courses in horticulture, turfgrass management, landscape design, and irrigation systems, as well as electives in advanced turfgrass management, golf course management, and business calculations. Students also complete a work experience in turfgrass management.

Degree Overview:

• The Associate of Science in Environmental Horticulture provides instruction in the design, construction, and maintenance of landscapes, nursery practices, and management of large turf areas.
• The program equips students with the skills and knowledge necessary for careers in the environmental horticulture industry, including landscape management and construction, pest control, sales of fertilizer and horticultural supplies, irrigation equipment supply and sales, and plant material sales.
