Program Overview

Capilano University's Business Administration Pathway is a two-term program for international students, offering 15 credits towards a business credential while enhancing English proficiency. Students take English for Academic Purposes courses alongside business courses, preparing them for further studies in business-related disciplines. Upon completion, students can pursue a bachelor's or diploma program in Business Administration, opening doors to diverse career opportunities in the business sector.

Objective:

The program aims to provide students with a solid foundation in business principles and practices, preparing them for further studies in a business-related discipline.

Description:

During the first term, students take EAP 090 to enhance their grammar, writing, reading, vocabulary, listening, and speaking skills. They also choose two business courses of their choice. In the second term, students take EAP 100 and EAP 101, along with ENGL 100 and one more business course. ENGL 100 helps them develop higher-level academic English skills.

Module 2 (Spring Term)

• EAP 100: English for Academic Purposes 4A
• EAP 101: English for Academic Purposes 4B
• ENGL 100: Academic Writing, Research and Literature
• One additional business course

Assessment:

The program follows a B+ grading system. Students must earn a B or higher in EAP 090 to progress to the next level and a B+ or higher in EAP 100 and EAP 101 to continue to a degree or diploma program.

Teaching:

EAP instructors collaborate with Business and English instructors toサポート students throughout the program.

Careers:

Upon successful completion of the Business Administration Pathway, students can pursue further studies in a bachelor's or diploma program in Business Administration, leading to various career opportunities in business-related fields.
