Degree Overview:
Madison College’s Education Pre-major provides a foundation in general education that will set students up for success in the Wisconsin-approved teacher-certification program where they intend to transfer. Transfer from a two-year college in order to complete a BA or BS degree can be a challenge to navigate due to the many specific course requirements. The education Pre-major supports students in selecting a program and choosing courses that will best match their teaching interests at their preferred transfer institution. Specific transfer agreements are available for transferring into four-year colleges, including Edgewood College’s School of Education. Though not itself a teacher-certification program, the Education Pre-major is for students intending to teach at the K-12 level after completing their bachelor’s degree at a four-year institution. For students interested in becoming a teacher-caregiver from birth to age 6, please consider Madison College’s Early Childhood Education Program.
