Program Overview
This program prepares students for careers as emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics. The program includes coursework in emergency medical services, patient assessment, and treatment. Graduates of the program will be qualified to work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, ambulance services, and fire departments. Employment in this field is projected to grow much faster than average over the next decade.

Entry Requirements:
- Current state of Illinois EMT-Basic license
- Verification of completion of an anatomy and physiology course
- Lake Land College paramedic does not currently have a process in place for advanced placement for students with a current EMT-I, RN or MD certification.
- Lake Land College paramedic program does not allow the transfer in of other paramedic courses from other colleges or universities.
- Lake Land College does have a board policy 06.14 that allows for course credits for licensure or certifications.
