Degree Overview:

Overview:

This Microsoft Azure Fundamentals Prep Course is an online instructor-led course that provides foundational knowledge of cloud services and how those services are provided with Microsoft Azure. It serves as an optional first step in learning about cloud services and Microsoft Azure, preparing students for the AZ900 examination or before taking further Microsoft Azure or Microsoft cloud services courses.

Objectives:

Upon completion of the Azure Fundamentals prep course, learners should have obtained the skills and knowledge to:

  • Describe cloud concepts, including benefits and considerations of using cloud services, differences between Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and the differences between public, private, and hybrid cloud models.
  • Describe core Azure services, including the core Azure architectural components, core products available in Azure, products available for networking, storage, databases, solutions available on Azure, big data and analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), serverless computing, and DevOps solutions available on Azure.
  • Describe Security, Privacy, Compliance, and Trust, including securing network connectivity in Azure, core Azure Identity services, security tools and features of Azure, Azure governance methodologies, monitoring and reporting options in Azure, and privacy, compliance, and data protection standards in Azure.
  • Describe Azure pricing and support, including Azure subscriptions, planning and management of costs, support options available with Azure, Azure Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and service lifecycle in Azure.

Program Description:

The course covers general cloud computing concepts, as well as general cloud computing models and services, such as Public, Private, and Hybrid cloud, and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). It also covers some core Azure services and solutions, as well as key Azure pillar services concerning security, privacy, compliance, and trust. Finally, it covers pricing and support services available with Azure.
