The BAS in Christian Ministries/MA in Theological Studies is an accelerated program that prepares students for ministry-related careers. Degree Overview:

The BAS in Christian Ministries/MA in Theological Studies is an accelerated bachelor’s and master’s degree program jointly sponsored by the College of Christian Faith and the Graduate School of Ministry. It is designed to prepare students to serve in a variety of pastoral and other ministry-related vocational and leadership contexts. The accelerated degree will provide students a seamless interface between undergraduate and graduate degrees. Through Christ-centered, quality higher education, students will focus on the theological, biblical, historical, and practical dimensions of Christian ministry for the 21st century.

Program Description:

The BAS in Christian Ministries/MA in Theological Studies is a 120-credit hour program that can be completed in as few as five years. The program includes 48 hours of general studies courses, 24 hours of Christian Ministries courses, 6 hours of shared undergraduate/graduate courses, and 30 hours of graduate courses.


General Studies Courses:

The general studies courses provide students with a broad foundation in the liberal arts and sciences. These courses include English, history, mathematics, natural science, and social science.


Christian Ministries Courses:

The Christian Ministries courses provide students with a foundation in the Bible, theology, and Christian history. These courses include Old Testament Survey, New Testament Survey, Christian Doctrine, and Christianity in a Pluralistic World.


Shared Undergraduate/Graduate Courses:

The shared undergraduate/graduate courses provide students with a bridge between their undergraduate and graduate studies. These courses include Foundations of Spiritual Life and Applied Hermeneutics.


Graduate Courses:

The graduate courses provide students with advanced study in theology and related fields. These courses include Old Testament Literature and Interpretation, New Testament Literature and Interpretation, Christian History and Heritage, and Systematic Theology.


Assessment:

Students in the BAS in Christian Ministries/MA in Theological Studies program are assessed through a variety of methods, including exams, papers, presentations, and projects. Students must also complete a portfolio that demonstrates their progress in the program.
