Program Outline

Assessment:

  • Ongoing and Informal Assessment: Weekly checking of learning journals by tutors for feedback and guidance, verbal feedback on work in progress during workshops and practical sessions, questioning individuals and groups for assessing understanding and modifying activities.
  • Self-assessment: Use of checklists for organization and management of coursework, weekly written reflections for identifying strengths and weaknesses, peer reviews and group discussions for self-review and providing exemplars.
  • Formal Assessments: Formative assessment halfway through each unit, submission of work electronically through Canvas for assessment against assessment objectives, summative assessment at the end of a unit following the same format as formative assessment, one-week extension for students receiving a referral in summative assessment to complete necessary work for passing.

Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:

  • Age: 17+ years
  • Educational Level: Completion of High School or a minimum of 1 x Level 3 qualification, preferably in a relevant creative subject (i.e.
  • A level) and 3 x GCSEs at grade 4 or grade C, including Maths and English and at least one of which should be in a creative arts subject.
  • Portfolio: Small portfolio required of 10 images or slides.
  • We are looking for an ability to develop creative ideas in addition to presenting personal interests and technical ability.
  • Portfolio of work showing personal work, school work, finished and prepared which demonstrates a commitment to 3D Design.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

  • English Language: Up to 5 hours per week if required
  • IELTS 4.5+ (no element under 4.0)
