The English Language Learning program is a five-level, full-time program designed for international students to enhance their English language skills. Through communicative teaching methods, students develop effective academic communication skills in reading, writing, listening, speaking, and pronunciation. The program offers a direct pathway to college communication courses and prepares students for success in higher education or their careers.

• Based on communicative teaching and learning practices, English Language Learning (ELL) is an intensive five-level, full-time program designed for international students who wish to improve their English language skills.
• This program helps international students build on and improve their language skills for success in college, university or their career.

Objectives:

• Develop effective academic communication skills by focusing on the key areas of reading, writing, listening, speaking and pronunciation.
• Participate in communicative activities, interactive exercises, group work and presentations.
• Have a direct pathway to college communication courses.

Description:

• ELL's five levels (Elementary, Beginner, Pre-intermediate, Intermediate, High Intermediate) run each semester.
• Students are placed into one of the five levels depending on the results of a placement test that will ensure they are in the correct language level.
• Each level runs for one semester and is divided into five modules.
• Students can start the program at the beginning of any module, depending on their date of arrival.
