Overview:

The Aviation Technology - Aircraft Maintenance & Management program at Centennial College equips students with the knowledge and skills to become aviation technicians in aircraft maintenance. The program is accredited by Transport Canada (TC) and provides the basic training required to become a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME – “M” rating).


Objectives:

  • Gain an understanding of various areas of aircraft maintenance, including general aviation, business and corporate aviation, and charter and transport category aviation.
  • Acquire hands-on experience on fixed and rotary wing aircraft, working on components such as airframes, engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, propellers, avionics equipment, and aircraft instruments.
  • Learn the essential theory and base of knowledge required for a career in aircraft maintenance.
  • Develop business and management skills related to the aircraft maintenance industry.
  • Obtain the qualification to certify (or release) aircraft for flight after maintenance, inspection, repair, or modification, as an AME licence holder.
