Program Overview


This BFA program in Theatre, Film, and Television provides comprehensive training by experienced professionals. Students gain performance experience through numerous productions, film festivals, and auditioning classes. They benefit from master classes, residencies, and study abroad opportunities, preparing them for careers in theatre, film, and television.

Program Outline

Outline:

  • This BFA is a professional training program designed to prepare students for careers in theatre, film, and television.
  • Training will be provided by experienced faculty and staff.
  • Students will have performance opportunities in four mainstage theatre productions, one mainstage dance concert, two second stage theatre productions, one second stage dance concert, as well as one-acts, readings, cabarets, and improv shows.
  • They will also participate in the Fault Line Film Festival by acting in dozens of student films.
  • Career development will be through auditioning classes, entrepreneurship classes, and Senior Portfolio.
  • Students will live and train in the beautiful River Campus.
  • They will benefit from an established program of master classes and residencies with professional guest actors, directors, and industry professionals.
  • They can study abroad at the prestigious NSKI University College in Oslo, Norway.
  • They will have opportunities to participate in numerous combined and individual professional theatre auditions across the country.
  • They will get to be involved in internships and professional employment, as well as participate in the Lanford Wilson New American Play Festival.
  • Students can join Alpha Psi Omega Honorary Theatre Fraternity, Blacklight, or other cabaret groups.
  • There are BFA Reviews with faculty committees dedicated to providing individual feedback on training, academics, and career development for every student.
  • BFA projects will consist of performing in faculty or guest-artist directed mainstage or second stage productions and then doing a project review with a faculty committee.
  • Showcase opportunities are provided by either New York City with CRY HAVOC Company or Los Angeles with Actors Connection.
