Aviation Pathway Program

Program Overview

The Aviation Pathway Program is a four-term program that combines high school education with flight training. Students earn a high school diploma while obtaining a Commercial Pilot License (CPL). The program includes full-time studies at Blyth Academy Burlington and flight training at Spectrum Airways. Graduates have career options in the aviation industry, including direct entry into MIFR and Instructor Rating programs, working for Spectrum Airways, or pursuing an Airline Transport Pilot license.

• Program Structure: The Aviation Pathway Program is a four-term program that combines full-time private education at Blyth Academy Burlington with flight training at Spectrum Airways.
Students earn a high school education while obtaining a Commercial Pilot License (CPL).
• Course Schedule:

Year One:

• Students study full-time at Blyth Academy Burlington.
• Work towards earning their Private Pilot License (PPL) with Spectrum Airways.
• Full-time studies run from September to June.
• Flight times may be required with Spectrum Airways in July and August.

Year Two:

• Students study full-time at Blyth Academy Burlington.
• Work towards earning their Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Spectrum Airways.
• Full-time studies run from September to June.
• Flight times may be required with Spectrum Airways in July and August to complete the CPL.
• Graduates have the option to return to Spectrum and receive their Instructor Rating, taking their first step towards a career as a Pilot in the aviation industry.

• Career Options after Graduation:

• Earn additional hours required to become an Airline Transport Pilot
• Instructors have advanced to careers with regional airlines like WestJet and Porter within a year after obtaining their CPL
