This new MSc is an extension of the MSc Materials Engineering and includes a second year allowing you to undertake either an industry placement or an industry-focused project with an industrial partner.
Outline:
The first year of the MSc offers a selection of compulsory and optional 10-credit modules on subjects including polymer processing, additive manufacturing, aerospace materials engineering, physical metallurgy of steels, and power generation systems, as well as an optional 30-credit group project.
Teaching:
Our department uses a variety of teaching methods including; taught/lecture-based, small group work, laboratory-based, project/assignment-based, use of Canvas. Increasingly lectures are exploring the use of lecture recording, blended learning and flipped learning. Usually the entry requirements for the MSc Materials Engineering with Industry course is a 2:2 honours degree (or above) in Materials Engineering, or a similar related discipline. Please note that there are a limited number of places on this programme – please see ‘How to apply’ for further information regarding requirements.
