This foundation enables students to critically analyze gender and its intersections with other social categories, such as class, race, ethnicity, disability, and sexuality. Students can further specialize in specific areas of gender studies by selecting two additional courses, allowing them to tailor their program to their interests and career aspirations.


Outline:

The program consists of three required courses:

  • GEN&WS 800: Research Methods in Gender & Women's Studies (3 credits)
  • Two GEN&WS courses numbered 300 or above with the Graduate Course Attribute (6 credits)

Assessment:

The program requires a minimum grade of 3.0 in all courses counting towards the certificate. All courses must be taken for a letter grade, and pass/fail courses are not permitted.
