Program Overview

This MSc Cyber Security program equips students with the skills to design, implement, and test security strategies for organizations. Through case studies, assignments, and projects, students develop expertise in computer, network, and information security. The program addresses the growing demand for cybersecurity professionals and prepares graduates for careers in various sectors, including government, finance, and national security.

Program Outline

Assessment:

We’ll assess your knowledge and understanding through case studies in which you’ll design, implement and test the security strategy of an organisation. You’ll also complete in-class tests, written assignments, software projects and presentations as part of the course.

Teaching:

We offer face-to-face campus teaching (with the exception of distance learning courses), supported by our established online learning systems, which provide additional support for individual study and engagement. Careers:

The Global Information Security Workforce Study 2015 predicted that the global cyber security workforce shortage would reach 1.5 million by 2020, as demand outstripped supply. The 2019 Study showed the actual shortage that year to be 3.12 million. This means there’s never been a better time to join the cyber security sector. Computer security is a fast-developing area and the skills you’ve gained on this MSc Cyber Security in computer, network and information security could see you working closely with lawyers, government, commercial organisations, the education sector and investigation agencies, as well as the finance and e-commerce sectors and national security organisations. Graduation doesn’t have to be the end of your time with us. You could choose to continue your academic career with a research programme at ARU, such as our PhD Computer Science. Tuition fees for UK students (2024/25)

£10,600 UK students starting 2024/25 (full-time, per year) ARU graduates may be eligible for an Alumni Scholarship and get a 20% fee discount. Fees are payable upfront, in full or in instalments, but there's no need to pay until you've accepted an offer to study with us. Find out more about paying your fees.
