Program Overview
This Master's degree in Contemporary Faith and Belief in the Global Context explores ethics in cultural and religious pluralism. Students gain conceptual tools for moral reasoning and decision-making, engage with diverse ethical perspectives, and apply ethical principles to contemporary issues. The program offers full-time and part-time options, with the possibility of intermediate awards (PG Cert and PG Dip).

This Masters degree is taught by Cambridge Theological Federation and accredited by ARU. Throughout this course, you'll be supported to:
- gain an in-depth understanding of ethics and its applicability in a context of cultural and religious pluralism
- learn the conceptual tools for insight into the processes of moral reasoning, development and decision making in private and public life
- encounter a diversity of approaches, engaging critically with divergent views of the role of ethics in public life
- relate the discourse of ethics to a wide range of contemporary personal, professional and public issues
- undertake a detailed exploration of some issues of significance in the contemporary context. The MA Contemporary Faith and Belief in the Global Context course is offered with a full-time workload (one year) or part-time (two years), and you'll study with Cambridge Theological Federation. You can choose to study in Cambridge or online (distance learning). There is also the option to study for one of two intermediate awards: a PG Cert and a PG Dip. Year 1 Whether you're studying for an MA, PG Cert or PG Dip, you'll study one core module: Secularisation in the Christian World. PG Dip and MA students select three optional modules. You'll select one 30-credit module from: Theology and Science; Christianity and Ecology; Development of World Christianity; Ecumenism in Theory and Practice; Interfaith Relations from Theory to Encounter; The Mystery of Love; Religion and Society From the Medieval to the Modern. You'll then select two modules from: The Theology and Practice of Mission; Moral Development, Reasoning and Decision Making; Theology and Philosophy.
