Program Overview
This program combines classroom learning with clinical practice, assessed through a viva and clinical competencies. Students will learn in a variety of settings, including lectures, seminars, and supervised clinical practice.
Program Outline
Assessment:
The achievement of learning outcomes will be assessed at both levels by a viva and the practice assessment will be achieved through the use of clinical competencies that will be assessed in practice by an experienced mentor.
Teaching:
You’ll learn both in the classroom (attending lectures, seminars, group work and skills etc) as well as in your own clinical practice area, under the supervision of an experienced practitioner and qualified mentor. During the Chelmsford campus delivery, there will be up to three days teaching at the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre in Basildon.

Entry Requirements:
- Level 6
- At least six months of post-registration experience in cardiac care
- Employed in a suitable cardiac care area
- Level 7
- At least two years of post-registration experience in cardiac care
- Minimum 2:2 degree in nursing
