The BCL (Etudes Juridiques) is a highly competitive, three-year dual degree program offered by the Catholic University of Lyon's Faculty of Law (UCLy) and the Maynooth University Law Department. The program offers students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in two vibrant legal traditions, gaining a comprehensive understanding of both Irish and French law. Students begin their studies at UCLy, either in Lyon or Anncey. The first two years of the program focus on foundational modules in French law, with additional short courses in Irish Law delivered by visiting academics from Maynooth University. In the third year, students transfer to Maynooth University, where they delve into Irish law, while also taking short courses in French Law taught by UCLy academics.
