Program Overview


The degree of Bachelor of Science with a major in Interior Design, requires successful completion of 120 hours, including (1) the UCA Core: complete 38 hours to meet lower-division UCA Core requirements and complete upper-division UCA Core requirements using designated major, minor, or elective courses (see the UCA Core requirements); (2) major requirements (60 hours); (3) related course requirements (9 hours); and (4) electives to bring total credit hours to 120. A minor is not required.


Mathematics Pathway: First-time, first-year students majoring in Interior Design enter the Quantitative Literacy Mathematics Pathway and must enroll in MATH 1360 during their first year of study, unless they have been awarded credit that completes their 1000-level math requirements.

Minor in Art History (22 hours)

Students must complete 22 hours of art, 9 of which must be upper-division courses: ART 2325, 2335 [ACTS: ARTA2003], 2336 [ACTS: ARTA2103]; 4 hours studio art selected from ART 1220, ART 1230, ART 1290; 9 hours selected from ART 3V05 (variable credit), 3301, 3302, 3303, 3307, 3311, 3329, 3335, 3363, 3365, 3385, 3395, 4V02 (variable credit), and 4372. ART 2325, 2335 [ACTS: ARTA2003], and 2336 [ACTS: ARTA2103] must be completed prior to enrolling in upper-division art history courses.

Programs of study for art minors are subject to approval by the Department of Art and Design.
