Program Overview

This MoR® 4-based program equips practitioners with practical skills to manage risks and create value within organizations. The program includes classroom lectures, group exercises, and online learning materials, preparing participants for the certification exam.

Program Outline

Degree Overview:

This course provides a comprehensive approach to managing risks and value within an organization. It is based on the MoR® 4 framework, which is a definitive guide to managing risk effectively. The course aims to equip practitioners with the ability to practically apply the framework in the workplace. It emphasizes value creation as the core of risk management and offers a practical understanding of how risk links to value creation and protection. The framework enables certified professionals to deliver value to their employers and organizations, enhancing their own career development. It includes valuable fictional case studies that illustrate how the guidance works in practice and can be tailored and applied across different sectors and organizations, irrespective of their operating model.

Outline:

The course consists of a series of classroom lectures and group exercises. The lectures introduce the method’s terminology, then case studies are discussed to explain how to use the method in practice. Supplementary learning material is provided via the University’s online learning platform. At the end of each day, multiple-choice questions are used to review the day’s learning and prepare for the certificate exam. The Practitioner course follows on from the Foundation course, where the method, its philosophy, and terminology are introduced. It focuses on the more intricate aspects of the method, putting it into practice through applying a series of challenging questions to a case study. The formal test follows exactly the same approach. The purpose of the Practitioner level is to confirm that you have achieved sufficient understanding to apply and adapt MoR® in a real-world scenario.

Assessment:

The exam has the following format:

  • Objective testing
  • Four questions per paper, 20 marks available per question
  • 50% (40 marks out of 80) required to pass
  • 3 hours' duration

Teaching:

The course is taught through a combination of classroom lectures, group exercises, and online learning materials. The lectures introduce the terminology and concepts of the MoR® 4 framework, while the group exercises provide opportunities for participants to apply the framework in practical scenarios. The online learning platform provides supplementary materials and resources to support the learning process.

Careers:

This certification is a must-have for roles where managing risk is inherent, including portfolio, programme, project, business change, and risk management professionals. It has a specific relevance for individuals working in product-focused environments and roles, offering a compelling integrated solution for the unique challenges faced by modern, digital-first organizations.
