Led by an experienced HPC-registered tutor, the workshop offers an interactive and collaborative learning environment for professionals in the biomedical sciences field.

• Course Summary: This IBMS Registration Portfolio Workshop is designed for trainees, training officers, and laboratory professionals who are supporting trainees in achieving the Certificate of Competence.
• Target Audience: The workshop is tailored for both trainees and trainers, providing insights into the portfolio requirements from both perspectives.
• Content: The workshop covers:
• Recognizing and selecting appropriate evidence for inclusion in the portfolio.
• Providing constructive feedback to students completing a portfolio.
• Gaining insight into the verification process and follow-up for IBMS membership and HPC registration.
• Group Activities and Discussions: Group activities and live discussions from both training officer and trainee viewpoints on preparation for the final verification, including virtual verifications.
• Learning Environment: The workshop encourages open debate, discussion, and questions throughout the group sessions, fostering collaborative learning and sharing of good practices.

Teaching:

• Tutors: Chrystalla Ferrier, an HPC-registered biomedical scientist specializing in clinical chemistry, with extensive experience in training and working in the NHS.
She is also a chartered scientist and IBMS Certificate of Competence Verifier.
• Accreditation: The course is registered as IBMS CPD approved professional activity.
