Term 1:

• Module 1: Radio Broadcasting: Covers the fundamentals of radio broadcasting, including equipment operation, audio editing, show planning, and industry knowledge.
• Module 2: The Radio & Audio Industry: Explores the radio and audio landscape, its organizations, and operational practices, providing insights into career paths and industry trends.
• Module 3: Essential DJ Skills: Develops DJing proficiency, focusing on mixing techniques, equipment usage, and music theory application in a DJ context.

Term 2:

• Module 4: Presenting: Focuses on presenting skills for various radio formats, including daytime and specialist music radio, speech radio, and podcasts.
• Module 5: Radio & Audio Production: Delves into the role of a radio/audio producer, covering advanced audio editing, sound engineering, live mixing, and administrative responsibilities.
• Module 6: Creative DJ Skills: Encourages creativity and experimentation in DJing, exploring techniques like harmonic mixing, looping, and audio effects.

Term 3:

• Module 7: Radio & Audio Branding: Focuses on producing sonic imaging, trails, and adverts for radio and audio, providing skills in creating promotional audio content.
• Module 8: Podcasting: Explores the growing podcasting industry, enhancing production and presenting skills for podcasts, and developing strategies for audience growth.
• Module 9: Advanced DJ Skills: Develops critical understanding of advanced DJ techniques, software applications, and performance hardware for confident and creative DJing.

Teaching:

• Point Blank classes are small to ensure ample 1-2-1 time with lecturers.
• The studios, located in Shoreditch, are equipped with industry-standard technology, including Adobe Audition and Myriad.
• Students have access to studios 7 days a week during term time.
• Students can book regular 1-2-1 sessions with lecturers outside of class time.
