For UK/EU students:
- A 2:1 honours degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant subject
- Applicants from other healthcare disciplines who wish to develop an understanding and expertise in sports and exercise medicine (this includes Physiotherapists with an overseas qualification but with an MCR HCPC registration) may also be considered on an individual basis.
For international students (outside EU):
- A 2:1 honours degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant subject
- Meeting English language requirements.
International qualifications:
- We consider qualifications from overseas equivalent to those described above. These may need to have a higher overall mark for non-European Union applicants.
Language Proficiency Requirements
All applicants whose first language is not English are required to have an IELTS (International English Language Testing System) overall average score of 7.0 with no subtest score below 6.5 or Pearson Test (Academic), overall score of 62 with no subtest score below 59. If English language requirements are met by taking the Pearson Test (Academic), it must have been taken after 31/07/2022.
Additional Entry Requirements
- At least one year of relevant clinical experience.
- Applicants with an overseas qualification must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- If you are a physiotherapist with an overseas qualification, you must be registered with the Health Professions Council.
