Program Overview
The Criminal Justice LLM program at the Criminal Justice Centre offers an in-depth comparative study of global criminal justice systems, exploring their regional and transnational interactions. Students gain knowledge of various systems, including civil vs. common law and international criminal law, while investigating challenges faced by professionals in a global environment. The program provides opportunities for further research and study in criminal law, and students benefit from a diverse cohort of peers from over 80 countries.

Entry Requirements
UK Applicants:
- A 2:1 or above at undergraduate level or a relevant qualification that offers an equivalent level of knowledge and understanding (with some exceptions, depending on the qualification type).
- Non-law graduates with at least a 2:2 in a non-law degree, may still be eligible if they possess significant legal qualifications (e.g., Common Professional Examination or Graduate Diploma in Law) and/or substantial relevant professional legal experience.
Overseas Applicants:
- Must hold a qualification equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree with at least a 2:1 (depending on the country and degree).
- Non-law graduates may be considered with the qualifications mentioned above (for UK applicants).
General English Language Requirements:
- IELTS: 7.0 overall, with 7.0 in writing and 5.5 in reading, listening, and speaking.
- TOEFL: 100 overall, with 27 in writing, 18 in reading, 17 in listening, and 20 in speaking.
- PTE Academic: 76 overall, with 76 in writing and 59 in reading, listening, and speaking.
- Trinity ISE: III (Merit in all four aspects: reading, writing, speaking & listening).
- Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE) & Advanced (CAE): 185 overall, with 185 in writing and 162 in reading, listening, and speaking.
Additional requirements for non-EU/UK students:
- Provide academic transcripts and degree certificates translated in English by an officially recognized translator.
- May require a visa and satisfy specific immigration criteria.
