Advanced Aircraft Design
Focuses on the design and performance of typical contemporary aircraft.
Aeroelasticity
Explores principles of aeroelasticity and addresses topics such as flutter, divergence, gust response, and unsteady aerodynamics. Utilizes analytical and computational tools to analyze aerospace structures and provide solutions for aeroelastic problems encountered in practical applications.
Extended Research Project
Allows students to choose a research topic within the discipline of aerospace structures and materials. Students will conduct rigorous research and produce a high-quality technical report for presentation and defense during an oral examination.
Advanced Mechanical Modelling of Materials
Provides training on the application of mechanical properties and constitutive modelling of engineering materials through the use of advanced nonlinear numerical algorithms and finite element analysis packages. Topics include plasticity, viscoelasticity, fracture mechanics and contact/friction implementations.
