Program Overview
Graduate with the knowledge you need to shape the machinery and technology that powers our world, from biomechanical implants and energy-efficient systems to thermofluid systems and consumer products.
Program Outline
Your next four years
First and second year
Focus on the foundations of engineering science and learn about the mechanics of materials and the fundamentals of manufacturing.
Third and fourth year
In your third year, decide whether to specialize in mechatronics engineering with a view to creating smart products or, alternatively, take a variety of technical electives. In fourth year, collaborate on a large-scale design project, leaving you well-equipped to start your career.
Your degree
Your degree will be recognized internationally and allow you to become a Professional Engineer (PEng) in Canada. That’s because, as of 2026, our undergraduate engineering programs in Cairo will receive the same distinction granted to our programs in Toronto: accreditation by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB).
Toronto Metropolitan University in Egypt
Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Cairo is a satellite campus of Toronto Metropolitan University in Toronto, Canada. It was established in 2022 in partnership with Universities of Canada in Egypt.
TMU Cairo offers select programs through The Creative School and the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science (FEAS). Cairo campus programs follow the same curriculum offered to students in Toronto, and Toronto Metropolitan University will oversee all academic programming, course quality and admission decisions.
The campus is located in the heart of Cairo, Egypt, and is home to over 1,000 students. TMU Cairo offers a vibrant student life, with a variety of clubs and organizations, as well as opportunities for international exchange.
Academic offerings at TMU Cairo include:
