Program Overview

Overview

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) is an exciting, cutting-edge topic with technologies and applications that span almost every aspect of our lives. AI and ML are everywhere, from smartphone apps that recognise your speech, to self-driving cars that revolutionise the safety and efficiency of our transport networks.

AI and ML are built on a foundation of computer science. It combines problem-solving skills, practical skills like programming, and specialist knowledge on tools and techniques for creating smart algorithms and software.

On this course, you will benefit from our 50 years-plus of experience in computer science. You'll learn how to integrate a diverse set of skills from a variety of topics into real-world applications, through our industry-focused curriculum.

You will study topics such as programming, machine learning, classification, clustering, AI in Healthcare and more, with modules that challenge you to combine and apply these topics on practical projects with career-launching outcomes.

The programme includes project and dissertation modules with opportunities to leverage industry-standard software tools to develop cutting-edge solutions to real-world problems, with the support and guidance of academic experts from the artificial intelligence domain.

All of our computer science students are automatically enrolled as student members of the British Computer Society (BCS).
