Outline:

Year 1

• Introduction to research methods in linguistics.
• Core courses in theoretical, descriptive, and comparative linguistics.
• Individual supervision meetings with faculty advisors.
• Training in academic writing and presentation skills.

Year 2

• Continuation of independent research project.
• Completion of the core chapter and research proposal.
• Upgrade to PhD status upon successful completion of the first year.

Year 3

• Completion of the research dissertation.
