Course Schedule:

The MSc IBA program is offered on a part-time basis, with students taking one module at a time. Each module lasts for ten weeks and is typically available in at least two of the year's study sessions. This flexible structure allows students to fit their studies around their professional, family, and personal commitments.

Whilst we incorporate all of the costs into your module fees, depending on your country of residence, you may incur local costs such as: fees paid to local examination centres for sitting your examinations. Fees may increase each year, therefore may be higher in subsequent years of study. Pay as you learn Our distance learning programmes can be paid in full at the time of enrolment or on a pay as you learn basis. Postgraduate loans If you have been a resident in England for 3 years you may be eligible. See postgraduate funding and finance for more information. Alternatively, we recommend students approach their local British Council, British High Commission or British Embassy, for information on local funding. Dependent on nationality, employment circumstances and other factors, funding and sponsorship sources can include: United Nations (UNESCO, FAO, UNDP, UNEP etc); Bilateral Aid Agencies (SIDA, GTZ, etc), European Union; British Council; NGOs; Educational and other charitable trusts.

Entry Requirements


EU and International Students:

  • A bachelor's degree with at least a second-class honours (lower division) grade, a CGPA of 5.5,
  • or equivalent qualifications approved by SOAS.
  • Relevant professional qualifications and/or relevant experience will also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • English language requirements.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

  • IELTS (Academic): minimum score of 6.5 and a minimum of 6.0 in each component.
  • TOEFL (iBT): minimum score of 90 (22 reading/25 listening/27 writing/23 speaking).
  • PTE (Academic): minimum score of 61, with no less than 55 in any sub score.
  • Cambridge English Language Assessment (CELA): Advanced (CAE) grade C or higher
  • Cambridge English Language Assessment (CELA): Proficiency (CPE) level C or higher.
  • Bachelor's degree from a UK higher education institution where the medium of instruction was English.
  • Bachelor's degree in English Literature, English Language, Linguistics, Communication Studies, Journalism.

Additional Considerations:

  • Applicants with relevant professional qualifications and/or relevant experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • All applicants are required to submit a personal statement, two academic references, and a transcript of their academic record.
  • However, specific entry requirements may vary depending on the individual's academic background and qualifications.
