This two-year intensive program provides conservatoire-style actor training with up to 30 hours of contact time per week. It aims to elevate your acting skills, boost your confidence, and set you on a path to work as a professional in the industry.

Outline:


Year 1:

  • Introduces the skills of acting.
  • Develops a sophisticated and joined-up approach to creative practice.
  • Creates individual small-scale work and ensemble pieces.
  • Examines classical and contemporary texts for stage and screen.
  • Covers Level 4 and starts Level 5 of the degree.
  • Includes modules like Acting 1 and 2, Rehearsal Methods and Rehearsal Practice, Creative Practice 1 and 2, Dance for the Actor, Body and Voice, and Physicality in Theatre 1 and 2.

Year 2:

  • Completes Level 5 and Level 6 of the degree.
  • Focuses on professional practice with modules centered around audition, rehearsal, and performance skills for stage and screen.
  • Develops an independent work portfolio, including a performance and reflective work.
  • Prepares graduates for entry into Spotlight and (circumstances allowing) a London Showcase for graduating students.
  • Includes modules like Auditions, Dance for the actor 2, Creative Practice 3, Directed Performance, Devised Performance, and Production 2: Devised Performance.

  • Viva voce, blogs, vlogs, and podcasts also used for assessment.
