Course Content

  • Introduction to Global Health: Explores contemporary health challenges within the context of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, differing health systems, and policy approaches.
  • Researching Global Health: Develops research skills in the area of Global Health, including research methodologies, analysis, theoretical frameworks, research designs, ethical considerations, evidence appraisal, and audit.
  • Leading Sustainable Change in Global Health: Focuses on developing skills to work with communities and incorporates opportunities for reflection on Global Health competencies and employability skills.
  • Interventions in Global Health: Builds on the Introduction to Global Health module by exploring critical issues in global health in more depth.
  • Utilizes problem-based learning and case studies to critically appraise sociological, psychological, political, legal, environmental, social, cultural, and spiritual factors influencing global health in different contexts.
  • Global Health Dissertation: A student-led, self-directed project where students undertake an individual project from start to finish, utilizing various methods.

Structure

The program consists of five modules: Introduction to Global Health Researching Global Health Leading Sustainable Change in Global Health Interventions in Global Health Global Health Dissertation Each module carries a specific credit value, and successful completion of all modules leads to the award of the MSc, PG Dip, or PG Cert qualification, depending on the credits achieved.
