    What will I study?

You will choose from four subjects in your first year of study. Most students will continue with all four subjects for their final three terms.

    How will I be assessed?

Your academic progress will be closely monitored by your teachers and Personal Tutor, using information such as homework marks, class tests and mock exams. They will offer you guidance and advice on producing assessed work of the highest standard.

We provide a settling-in report to students and parents during the first term and then a report at the end of each term. The reports cover student academic performance in class and examinations, plus attitude and aptitude.

Regular homework is compulsory and you will be expected to spend at least as many hours each week in private study as you do in the classroom.

Examination practice is an essential part of A level study and will build your confidence as you develop your exam technique. Your teachers will help you understand the style of CAIE examination questions and you will have extensive practice at answering exam questions under timed conditions.

In addition to your A level studies, you will develop your skills as you learn how to write in an academic style. You will also be carefully prepared to express yourself in interviews for entry to top UK universities and medical schools, including Oxford and Cambridge.
