Program Overview


This collaborative program between Loughborough University's School of Business and Economics and Department of Computer Science provides a balanced blend of computing and management subjects, equipping students with both technical and business skills. The program offers practical experience through industry placements and projects, preparing graduates for a wide range of careers in IT, finance, and other sectors. Graduates are eligible for Chartered IT Professional (CITP) status from the British Computer Society.

Objectives:

  • To provide excellent preparation for a challenging and rewarding career, offering a high level of knowledge and practical skills in both computing and management.
  • To make students more competitive in a dynamic and data-driven business environment.
  • To offer approximately evenly divided between computing and management subjects, providing coverage of key capabilities in software engineering, databases, programming and networking, as well as equipping students with essential skills for business and management such as marketing, operations management and accounting.
  • To be more flexible when choosing the project in Year 3/4 if applying from Tech Partnership Degrees.

Description:

  • This course is a collaboration between the Loughborough University School of Business and Economics and the Department of Computer Science.
  • Students will gain experience working in IT or management roles in different organisations.
  • The course covers 50% computing and 50% management subjects.
  • Students will develop practical skills in addition to theoretical knowledge.
  • Students will use their academic and professional skills in Personal Best.
  • Students can take an optional one-year industrial placement.
