Degree Overview:
This adult nursing program provides compassionate individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to begin a rewarding career in caring for those in need. The program focuses on theoretical, practical, and clinical learning experiences and assessments. Throughout the program, students will be exposed to the most up-to-date research in nursing, public health, and biomedical science. They will also gain valuable insights into working within a community healthcare team and develop leadership skills to provide expert care and progress their nursing career.
Outline:
During the course of this program, students will:
- Learn through theoretical sessions, group work, role-play, and practical sessions.
- Have access to state-of-the-art facilities, including a simulation suite, therapy rooms, and science laboratories.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest health technology.
- Be taught and supported by committed and experienced teaching staff actively involved in nursing practice and research.
- Gain practical nursing experience through 2,300 hours of full-time clinical work placements and practice simulation throughout the course.
- Translate their academic learning into practice in a range of primary care, hospital, independent, voluntary, charitable, and private care settings. The program's design focuses on social justice integration within the curriculum, allowing students to participate in local initiatives that strengthen community health provision and relationships, such as London Met's Refugee Assessment and Guidance Unit. Additionally, they will experience the University's diverse range of in-house clinic activity.

- a minimum of grades BCC in A levels (or a minimum of 104 UCAS points from an equivalent Level 3 qualification).
- five GCSEs at grade 4/C to include Maths and English Language (or equivalent Level 2 functional Maths and English/communication), and preferably a science subject.
- five days or more of recent (within the last two years) work experience in a care environment would be desirable. All applicants will be required to pass an interview. The applicant will need to demonstrate values that promote compassion, dignity, and respect.

Standard Entry Requirements
- Academic qualifications
- GCE A Levels: BCC or equivalent (minimum of 104 UCAS points).
- BTEC Extended Diplomas: DDD or equivalent.
- Access to HE Diploma: Pass with 45 Level 3 credits at Merit or above.
- International Baccalaureate: 28 points overall, with 14 points at Higher Level.
- A Level equivalency qualifications: such as BTEC Nationals, RQF Nationals, NVQs, or a relevant professional qualification.
- GCSEs:
- Five GCSEs at grade 4/C to include Maths and English Language (or equivalent Level 2 functional Maths and English/communication).
- At least one Science subject desirable.
Other Entry Requirements
- Recent work experience:
- Five days or more of recent (within the last 2 years) work experience in a care environment is desirable.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check:
- You must be cleared for non-exposure prone procedures (EPP) by an approved occupational health service.
- Interview:
- You will be required to pass an interview.
- The interview will assess your suitability for the course and your potential to qualify as a registered nurse.
- You will need to demonstrate compassion, dignity and respect for patients and colleagues.
