Interior Design BA (Hons)

Program Overview

Through a combination of theoretical and practical modules, students develop their skills in sketching, drawing, model making, and communication. The program prepares graduates for careers in interior design, graphic design, and web design, with opportunities for further studies and industry collaborations.

• Year 1:
• Critical & Contextual Studies 1 (Interiors):
This module helps students develop their thinking, key skills, and understanding of the industry. They will explore sketching, drawing, and model making.
• Interior Design Communication and Techniques: This module focuses on communication through drawing, site visits, and hand and digital drawing workshops.
• Spatial Design: This module introduces students to the spatial journey, exploring human responses to spaces and environments.
• Year 2:
• Human Scale: This module explores human behavior and its impact on interior design.
• Major Project Realisation: Interior Design: This module requires students to fully develop and realize the project conceived in the Project Design and Development for Interiors module.
• Project Design and Development for Interiors: This module requires students to research, design, and develop a self-directed project, which they will later realize in the Major Project Realisation module.

Assessment:

• A variety of assessment methods are used, including formative, summative, diagnostic, peer, and self-assessment.
• These assessments take the form of studio-based work, workshops, and digital projects.
• Feedback is provided throughout the course.

Teaching:

• The program is taught by practitioners and experts in the field.
