Program Description:

Outline:
Year 0 (Foundation Year):
- The foundation year provides an introduction to a range of artistic disciplines, including observational drawing, creative drawing, painting, conceptual modelling, practical making, performance, colour, materials, process, collage, composition curating, exhibiting, and more.
- Students will work on interpretative projects to establish their artistic style and direction.
- The year also includes lectures and seminars on contemporary art theory and practice.
Year 1:
- Students will focus on developing their technical skills and knowledge in various mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and printmaking.
- They will also explore different artistic approaches and concepts through studio projects, seminars, and critiques.
Year 2:
- Students will continue to develop their individual artistic practice, specializing in areas of their interest.
- They will also begin to develop their research skills and prepare for their final year dissertation.
Year 3:
- Students will complete a major body of work, demonstrating their artistic development and understanding of contemporary art practice.
- They will also write a dissertation on a topic related to their artistic practice or area of interest.
Assessment:
- Students will be assessed through a combination of coursework, projects, and examinations.
- The emphasis will be on formative assessment, with regular feedback and opportunities for improvement.

Entry requirements:
- At least one A level (or a minimum of 32 UCAS points from an equivalent Level 3 qualification, e.g., BTEC Subsidiary/National/BTEC Extended Diploma)
- English Language GCSE at grade C/4 or above or will need to take the University English test We encourage applications from international/EU students with equivalent qualifications. We also accept mature students with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
If you live outside the UK, you will be required to submit a small portfolio of work via email.

English language requirements:
To study a degree at London Met, you must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the English language. If you require a Student visa (previously Tier 4) you may need to provide the results of a Secure English Language Test (SELT) such as Academic IELTS. Year 0 modules include:
